From The Director

I want to personally say welcome to another exciting year here at Mansfield Christian. The band program represents the instrumental music program here at the school. It encompasses grades five through twelve, and offers a variety of different ensembles, including fifth grade beginning band, sixth grade band, seventh and eighth grade band, high school band, pep band, and the Blue Flames Jazz Band. The main purpose of this program is to give students a quality music education through instrumental performance techniques, but ultimately glorifying God through the gifts and talents that he has given us.  This is my second year teaching band at Mansfield Christian. I am a graduate of Malone University, and have recently completed my masters degree in music education from Kent State University. Music has always been a large portion of my life.. I am blessed to be able to glorify him through music, because he has given me so much. I have spent this year getting to know the students and their talents. There is always work to be done, but we aim to glorify God in all we do.

If there is anything that I can do to better serve the needs of your students, please contact me. I want the best for all of my students. I want to see them become better musicians, but even more so, strengthen their relationship with Jesus Christ. The students are always improving and growing in their talents and gifts.

The music department is committed to providing a quality music education that is grounded in a biblical worldview. We believe that music truly can make a difference in the lives of our students and we strive to provide meaningful experiences that will enable them to become life-long musicians. We hold a vision to enrich the musical experiences of students while developing their skills through training, learning opportunities and performance, while our purpose is to enhance the student's worldview through music and to evaluate its biblical role in society, culture, and lifestyle. 

Mansfield Christian School Music Booster Club

The Mansfield Christian Music Booster Club is an organization of parents who want to support the music department at MCS. This group meets on the third Monday of every month at 7:00 pm in the Choir Room. It is open to all parents and community members who have or have had a student in the music program at Mansfield Christian.
